- All citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and other countries from the age of 16 may become users of the Library.
- Users can register or update their registration data visiting the library or through the e-government gateway.
- To become a user of the Library, it is obligatory to read the Rules for the Use of the Library.
Registration for users who wish to use the Digital Repository.
Digital documents stored in the Library’s Digital Repository can be viewed by the following users:
- All registered users of the Library who log in using credentials provided upon registration;
- Natural persons who completed an online registration form, indicating their first and last name and an e-mail address.
Registration at the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences
When registering, a user must submit the following:
- A document photo;
- An identity document;
- Persons who wish to use the circulation service must additionally submit documents confirming their status in accordance with the procedure established in the Rules for the Use of the Library;
- Persons who do not have permission to use the circulation service may use publications and other library items only in the Library’s reading rooms;
- The reader’s card is valid only at the Wroblewski Library. A first-time-issued reader’s card is free of charge;
- The reader’s card is issued for six years with an option to extend its validity period when needed. If a user’s contact information changes, he/she must to update it at the Visitor Access Control Desk or through the e-government gateway;
- The storage period of a user’s personal data coincides with the validity period of his/her reader’s card. If during this period a user has not once used the Library’s services or has not reregistered, his/her personal data will be deleted. In this case, the user’s account will be created anew upon extension of the validity period of his/her reader’s card;
The reader’s card gives a user the following rights:
- To request, place hold on, and be delivered library items by electronic and other means of communication, to extend the use period of library items in accordance with the established procedure;
- To request documents from other libraries of Lithuania and from libraries of other libraries through the inter-library loan service;
- To copy, print, scan and photograph library documents on the premises of the library, to save information into electronic data storage devices in accordance with the RL Copyright and Related Rights Law (Services Price List);
- Remotely use the Library’s subscription electronic databases and digital repository;
- To use library’s premises, computers and Wi-Fi (how to connect to the Library’s network), specialized software and use other library services that require user authentication as established in the Rules for the Use of the Library;
- Only registered users of the Library are admitted to the premises of the Library;
- Entering the Library, a user must leave outerwear and personal items in the cloakroom (not to bring bags, backpacks, and handbags to the reading rooms), to carry belongings necessary for work in transparent bags. A user is obliged to comply with the established opening hours and leave the premises tidy and on time before the closing of the library.
Unregistered users of the Library have the following rights:
- To receive comprehensive information about the Library’s collections and services;
- To use the Library’s electronic catalogue and other means of searching for information available at the Library;
- To visit exhibitions and other events run at the Library.
The procedure for filming and photographing on the Library’s premises is established in the Rules for Filming and Photographing in the Library.
