Working hours:
Monday to Friday  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Documents are loaned at the Circulation Desk.
  • The Circulation Service may be used by natural and legal persons specified by the Rules for the Use of the Library.
  • A user may borrow up to 20 items at the Circulation Desk, if there are no special restrictions.
  • The Library reserves the right to restrict a loan to a shorter period of time.
  • The loan period is one month.
  • The month-long loan period may be renewed. The first renewal may be done by the borrower online logging into his/her User Account; the second and further renewals must be done at the Circulation Desk, by telephone or e-mail.
  • The loan period will not be renewed and the materials must be returned in due time in the following cases:
  • The item is loaned for a period shorter than a month;
  • Another reader is in the hold queue for the item;
  • The borrower has other materials overdue for return;
  • Requested items will be on hold shelf for three days. If the requester does not pick the items within this time period, the items will be returned to the stacks or passed on to the next reader in queue.

The following materials may not be borrowed:

  • Periodicals;
  • Serials;
  • Reference publications;
  • Encyclopedias;
  • Electronic documents;
  • Books published pre-1940;
  • Publications from the holdings of the Rare Books and the Manuscript Departments;
  • Publications in high demand;
  • Worn, damaged and restored materials.
