The compilers of the collection are the Vilnius Kanklės Society of Theater Lovers established in 1905, the Vilnius Studio (active in 1918–1919), the Lithuanian Society of Artists (1920–1921), and the State Theater in Kaunas (active since 1922).
The collection was received in 1950 from the library of the then Kaunas State University.

The compiler of the collection is Liutnia (Lute), a Polish theatre established in Vilnius in 1907 and active until October 1944.
The collection was received in 1944 from the abandoned premises of the theater.

The compilers of the collection are the Vilnius Beginners Lithuanian School (1908–1931), the Vilnius Vytautas Magnus School (1915–1940); the Vilnius Teachers Seminary (1916–1927); the Švenčionys Lithuanian School (1925–1936).
The collection was received in 1947 from the Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Lithuanian SSR (now the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore), which had taken over the collection of the Lithuanian Scientific Society (active in 1907–1940).

The compiler of the collection is the Lithuanian Mutual Aid Society of Vilnius established in 1904. Its members took effort to obtain permission to establish a two-year school on March 29, 1907. The school housed a shelter and offered evening courses. It was closed in 1932.
The collection was received in 1952 from the Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Lithuanian SSR (now the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore)

The collection was acquired in 1968 from the Library of the Theater Society of the Lithuanian SSR (Theater House) and handed over by the head of the library, Janina Šliubiauskienė.
