The founder of this collection is Tadas Ivanauskas (1882–1970), naturalist, writer, Doctor of Biological Sciences (1940), professor, member of the Academy of Sciences and of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union.
The collection was acquired in 1981 from Eleonora Baltuškevičienė (Ivanauskaitė).
